Indium is used to coat the bearings of high speed motors since it allows for the even distribution of lubricating oil. Indium is used to dope germanium to make transistors. It is also used to make other electrical components such as rectifiers, thermistors and photoconductors, and has a use in the production of flat screen TV's and computers displays. Also used to produce low melting alloys such as our Lens alloy117 and 136, Indium is very good at withstanding low temperature and this makes it useful for gaskets and seals in cryogenics.
